Check Me Out!

When I first started Nikki, In Stitches, I didn’t know I would gravitate so frequently to quilting posts, but it does make sense, since behind the wheel of my sewing machine is where I spend all of my free time.  On a whim, I submitted myself to one of my favorite blogs, QuilterBlogs.com, and thought, even if they don’t pick my blog to follow, maybe they’ll send me some feedback.  I could use all that I can get since I’m still relatively new to the blogging world.  To my surprise, they decided to follow my blog!  If you’re unfamiliar with QuilterBlogs.com, it is, in my opinion, the best way to see the most number of quilters out there.  They follow almost 500 blogs and highlight all their posts. They cut out all the work for us readers, since now all of our favorite blogs can be viewed in once place.  I like it, too, because the quilters highlighted have such varied styles.  It’s nice to get a look at everything from art quilts, to traditional quilts, stash buster quilts, quilt alongs, etc….and now Nikki, In Stitches!

Papier Piecing PurgatoryFor those of you just visiting here for the first time, I thought I’d highlight a few of my recent quilting posts.  This first one, Paper Piecing Purgatory, for selfish reasons…I am still on the hunt for the queen size lay out of the 4th of July Quilt.

IMG_2638_editedBut also, my Tagged and Ready for the Relay post is one of my recent favorites.  It highlights a cute little tag I made for my quilt and gives details about how this quilt is helping raise money for the American Cancer Society.  Last time I checked in on it, the quilt was a big success at the Relay, had already raised a lot of money, and is now back up in the hospital, still up for grabs in a raffle.  I should know by the end of July exactly how much money was raised.  This sampler quilt was a progression of tutorials I put together starting with the very basics of how to cut fabric, to each individual block (there is a link here to the first), and then to sashing and borders, machine quilting and binding.

So look around, and tell me what you think.  I’m happy you’re here and welcome all of you new readers to Nikki, In Stitches!

Enjoy,

Nikki, In Stitches

Congrats on being added to the QuiltersBlog site. THat is where I go everyday for my quilting fix! I spend way too much time on the puter though as many lament. I’m pretty sure I have been to your blog before, linking over from one of my yahoo groups perhaps? Although, since I found quiltersblogs, I don’t even do my groups anymore. Not enough time….

I, too, spend way too much time reading everyone else’s blogs! No wonder why I’m always rushing to finish projects to post about!
      Thanks for stopping by!

I know this is more of an adult crafting site, so please don’t kick me off for asking, but any ideas on crafting that we can do with toddlers?
