Yeah! A Giveaway!

As a new blogger, I am still feeling my way around and figuring out what works and what doesn’t.  I know that the only way to ensure I am posting about what you’d like to read is to get feedback directly from you.  In an attempt to encourage a little more viewer participation, I am holding my first giveaway.

I made these crocheted bracelets a few years back as Christmas gifts for my friends.  All you need to do to qualify for the giveaway is leave a comment.  Tell me what you think of the bracelet and/or any of my previous posts, ask questions about how to make it, give suggestions for what you’d like to see in the future, etc.  If you put a link to my blog on yours, I’ll throw your name in twice!  Monday morning I’ll announce the winner!

Good luck!

Nikki, In Stitches

Oh, and yes, this is also an attempt to bide time while I finish another project to post about.  Here’s a hint: I’m moving to Connecticut in a few weeks and will surely need this!

Added Friday, February 20th:  There have been multiple requests for a pattern for this bracelet.  Check back early next week!

Hey Nikki! The bracelets look like a beautiful gift! I would love to learn how to make one. Are they extremely complicated? These could be the perfect gift!

Crochet bracelet doesn’t sound exciting, but this is lovely! I like that the beads are basically monocromatic. I found the rainbow effect cheapens th elook of jewelry. This is a little bohemian and still classy! Wonderful piece of arm candy!

  3. Emmy says:

I like the bead choice too. The colors are great together. Do you use some sort of elastic material to crochet with? I have seen crocheted headbands for little kids (I am interested in making one) and was wondering if it is kind of similar (minus some beads, of course). I would also like to submit a guess as to what you are making…knitted matching sweaters for Joe and Murphy for their cross-country adventure. Adorable!

  4. Sarah says:

How do you keep the beads out of the mouths of dogs and babies? If you can answer that one, you are much more than my crafting hero!

BTW, you can add photography to your list of creative talents – the photo of this bracelet is really great.

OK my real comment is: I would like a Quilting post. I think readers would be interested in how you got into quilting and see some of your work. Then maybe a “getting started” post or something similar to what you did with the cards.

  5. Jennie says:

I love the colours of these beads – I’m really loving greens at the moment – very calming. If you are willing to ship to the UK I’d love to be included in this competition. If not, I’ll look forward to seeing a pattern!

  6. Suzanne says:

Great bracelet. I, too, would like to know how you made it. Do hope all’s well for you all.

    Have a great day!!!

  7. Amy says:

I’ll comment!! This is a beautiful bracelet! You’d better watch out though, or i’ll be using your patterns for next years Christmas presents!! Do you have a way to make earrings that match?

  8. Lauren says:

    Hi Niks!
Hope all goes well with the move. I am thinking of maybe a big loopy scarf for CT to keep you warm? I think this is a great idea and am surprised that you haven’t done this sooner! I definately need to start getting crafty!
