Got a few bits of your favorite wrapping paper that are too small to wrap with, but too cute to toss? Whip up one of these cuties in under 5 minutes, and you’ll have the perfect ornament, the perfect embellishment for a gift, the perfect little something extra, dash of handmade, that makes your gift even more fantastic!
Enjoy, again!

*This may look familiar to some of you! A few months ago, I was a guest blogger on Waiting on Martha (Stewart), and unfortunately, since then, the blog has been taken down. I have no idea why, and many of you are asking for the origami star directions, so I thought I’d post them here.
These made the perfect decorations for my monogrammed cookie jars! Take a look here: Etched Glass Cookie Jars!
Good idea! Thank you!

Yay, Rachee!!
Send us pics! I’d love to see!
I love this! I hate to throw away pretty wrapping paper. What a wonderful idea to reduce waste and make pretty things for free 🙂
Thanks so much!! I can’t bring myself to toss it, either!
Love this! They remind me of those paper folded things that we played with as kids. A good craft to do in front of the tv, too.
Yes, Barb! They’re perfect for that, and they’re so super cute, too!!

You know it, Sandy!
Who would have thought my little “keep the kids busy the day before Christmas break” project would still be such a hit?!?!
PS…Miss you! Hope all is well! XOXO
This is ideal for my little sister – she loves origami. I know it’s an old post, but glad I stumbled upon it. Thanks! 🙂
I got lost in the fourth picture, i do not understand.
Never mind, I got it! This is fantastic, thank you for the great tutorial!
Chloe!
So happy to hear you worked it out and you love the project!!
Thank you!!
My mother recently passed. She didn’t have much material possessions to leave us but a few tshirts and pants that I had memory animals made from.
When going through her 2 boxes, I found wrapping paper from last Christmas, it says “No Peeking” , she had been famous for peeking in the far past.
I might try to make ornaments for my sisters. Is there a way to preserve it better? About how big is it? I’m thinking of maybe cutting a clear ornament in half and encasing it.
Do you have any other memorial type crafts for Christmas paper?
Sherri, this ends up being about 6″ high and wide. It lays flat for storage. I love this idea of making it out of paper that means so much to you!
