The craft show went off without a hitch. I think I was overly prepared, if that’s possible. Thank you again to all of you that offered suggestions and advice. I know I wouldn’t have been so lucky if I didn’t have all of you helping me get ready.
The first day, Saturday, was really, really slow. So slow that I was getting nervous that all the preparation, hours of sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc. was wasted time. The weather was kind of bad in the morning, and I kept hoping that maybe that’s why it was so slow and hopefully all those people would be out Sunday instead.
I was right. Sunday was a much better day. We sold about four times as many items!
In the end, I was slightly disappointed with our actual sales, but very happy with the experience and the connections we made. I will be much more confident going into our next show, which by the way, I think I’m going to try to do three or four more before the holidays get here, and I will have much more realistic expectations.
I think the best thing that came out of the entire weekend was the feedback I received on my pieces. People were really impressed by everything I had. In fact, most people asked where my boutique was located, which of course got my wheels turning, but opening an actual store is just not in the cards for me right now…not with another baby coming in seven weeks!
Thanks again!
Nikki, In Stitches
