Nikki, In Stitches on Craft Wars! Our Episode Is This Week!

Nikki · August 19, 2012 · 51 Comments

It’s here! Our Craft Wars episode is finally here!

Jen (the amazing talent behind Jen T By Design) and I are so excited for all of you to finally see us compete in the crafty battle!

This post is packed with so many details and so much fun, you might want to take notes and break out your calendars!

Hold on to your seats! This is going to be an exciting week!!

1. Our episode is this Tuesday!

Our episode is this Tuesday and it is the season finale! But, and this is important, there are two new episodes this week! The first airs at 8pm EST, and the second at 11p EST. We are the second episode! Look for “Pilgrim Plumbing” in your listings! Any guesses as to what we’ll be making???

PS…You’ll know you have the right episode because we have a special host! Steve Piacenza!

2. Let’s recap the show together!

Jen and I know that our episode airs pretty late Tuesday night (it’s past my bedtime!) so we’re going to give you some time to watch it through your DVR, catch a replay, or even download it from iTunes. Then, Thursday night at 8pm EST we’re hosting a LIVE Spreecast!

3. There’s a giveaway!! There are LOTS OF GIVEAWAYS!!!

Cathie Fillian (the other half of “Cathie and Steve”) is hosting a HUGE giveaway on her site! Click here to go to her post and just leave a comment to be entered to win over $800 worth of crafty goodies!!

But wait! Some of the Craft Wars vets are also hosting smaller giveaways on their own blogs!

Here’s the full list. The rules are the same everywhere…leave a comment to be entered to win!

The Impatient Craft (Margot Potter)
HandMAKE My Day (Andrea Currie)
All Things Luci Rae (Traci Remley)
Lisa Liza Lou (Lisa Fulmer)
Ten Seconds Studio (Megan Darrow)
Liddy B. and Me! (Cheryl Burchett)
radmegan (Megan Andersen)
Foo Foo La La (Pattye Duffner)
Mindful Making (Marylena Sevigney)

Hmmmm? Anyone missing from that list?

ME!

I’m giving away a turquoise button necklace kit!

All of the supplies needed to make the necklace pictures below are included! And I have a video how-to here, so we can make the necklace together!

The rules are the same here, too! Just comment below to enter! Say anything you’d like! What’s been your favorite episode of Craft Wars so far? What crafty project are you working on right now? What’s the next project on your must-make list? You get the idea….any comment will do!

(Required Giveaway Legal Jargon: This contest is not sponsored by TLC or Craft Wars. This contest is just to celebrate the season coming to an end.  All items provided are being provided by me. Open to US residents.  Cathie will be drawing the grand-prize winner and the winner of the bonus prizes at 5pm on August 22, 2012 (her birthday!).  She will collect all the names from the various blog posts, twitter and Facebook.  They will be entered into a random generator.  The first name chosen will be the grand-prize winner.  We will send emails to all the winners and the goodies will be shipped to them.)

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED! THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT JOINED IN THE FUN!

4. Jen and I have even more surprises in store!

    Hi Nikki,
What an amazing journey this has been to craft, blog, and connect with so many wonderful artists. I enjoyed my first Spreecast last week and look forward to trying to be there on Thursday with you and Jen. So far I have enjoyed all of the episodes of Craft Wars, but have to be honest about Episode 1 being a bit of a favorite. I had been following Christy Tomlinson for a while when I found out she would be on the show and love her Mixed Media style. I also enjoyed the last two episodes since I feel like the bar had been raised compared to other episodes. Wonderful show and so happy that Crafters are being Represented!
Can’t wait to watch you and Jen on Tuesday!

I picked up a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Configurations Print Tray to alter at Michael’s a few days ago and I am going to alter it using paper, paints, VerDay, and all sorts of fun bling and stuff. I originally thought to give it a holiday theme since it is going to be a holiday gift but now I am thinking how about 1-18 years for on of my children. Maybe Halloween or Christmas or Back to school pics etc. I don’t know…will have to work it out and get it done. Vickie

What a fabulous necklace kit! I love the episode with Margot Potter! She’s one of my favorite people ever! The crafty project that I’m working on right now is building and painting props for a new display of ceramic pots in our store. I want to have everything at different levels to really draw the eye around the display instead of making it a sea of ceramic. The trick is not making the tiers stand out themselves, but still look nice. And of course, using materials found in the store or on-hand without breaking the budget!

I love this contest and I love Craft Wars. My question would be how to apply as a contestant! My husband and I could so rock it! My next craft projects are some altered jewelry. This prize package would save me a fortune for these projects! I’ve been reading these blogs and I have a large collection of things from my grandmother to alter for my daughter and granddaughters! I am especially ;looking forward to some projects using watches. I will definitely be checking some of these vet blogs out! my email is margieippc@gmail.com.

The show has been great! Just when I think I want to be on the show, the pop craft has something to do with sewing. I panic. I think it would take me an hour to come up with an idea let alone sew it. I think the best part of the show is the creative crafts that are made within the time available. Amazing.

On My Work Table Today

I’ve completely lost myself in my current design. I don’t mean like lost my sense of style, or lost my motivation, or even lost track of what direction I wanted to take this piece. I mean like I literally lost myself. I’ve been in my studio for hours on end, draping, drafting, and editing on repeat. I am a complete mess, in every sense of the word.
